TikTok<\/a> comedian Steve Bridges has died aged 41.<\/p>\n

Bridges, known for his POV skits on the platform where he boasted 2.1 million followers, passed away in his sleep on his couch on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

His wife Chelsey, whom he had been married to for 16 years, confirmed his death in a video in which she revealed his passing had come ‘totally out of the blue’.<\/p>\n

She added that while Bridges – a father of three who lived in Peoria, Illinois<\/a> – had been pursuing a healthier lifestyle, three of his family members had previously died young.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chelsey said: ‘I’m really sorry to get on and tell you this, this way. I think if I wait any longer, I’m not going to be able to do it.<\/p>\n

‘Who you saw online was just the characters that he created. He was so talented because he was the opposite of all of them.<\/p>\n

His wife broke down in tears as she wiped her face in the emotional video<\/p>\n

‘He was the most attentive father, and the best, the best husband. And the greatest, sweetest man. And thanks to you internet, he’s been able to live his dream of making people laugh. I am so thankful that he got to do that,’ she added as she wiped tears off her face.<\/p>\n

‘I’m not going to tell my children that they can’t grieve online. I will probably grieve online too. This is life now. Please never take it for granted and try to live your dreams every day. Love your family and take care of yourself.’<\/p>\n

A statement from his close friend and filmmaker Eric Mathis read: ‘This is one of the worst announcements I could ever have to make\u2026 our brother from another mother Steve Bridges has passed away.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Steve was an incredible talent beloved by millions of fans across the world, he was part of our tight knit film family, he was a husband and a father to 3 young kids. At 41, he is gone way too soon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Everyone who had the pleasure, the absolute pleasure of meeting Steve, they all loved him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘He was so kind, so genuine, so passionate about his art, and infectious in his many amazing traits.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bridges is thought to have died from natural causes according to the\u00a0Peoria Police Department, reported TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dying young runs in his family as his grandmother passed away in her sleep at 52, and his father and grandfather both died in their forties.<\/p>\n
