Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has picked out three Red Devils stars who are \u201cnot good enough\u201d, while Ruben Amorim is \u201cdoomed\u201d.<\/p>\n
Scholes never minces his words when speaking on Man Utd<\/strong><\/a> and he has been particularly outspoken following the launch of his new podcast with Nicky Butt and Paddy McGuinness.<\/p>\n It\u2019s been easy for Scholes and Co. to target Man Utd in recent weeks as Amorim<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s side have endured a poor start to this season, sitting tenth in the Premier League after three losses in seven. They have also suffered an embarrassing Carabao Cup exit at the hands of League Two side Grimsby Town.<\/p>\n The pressure on Amorim somewhat eased following United\u2019s 2-0 win over Sunderland before the international break, though he will be back under immense scrutiny if his side loses to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.<\/p>\n United\u2019s poor recruitment is one reason for their woes post-Sir Alex Ferguson, with Scholes and Butt hitting out at the club for signing Casemiro for around \u00a370m.<\/p>\n \u201cWe got sucked into that one, and there\u2019s been quite a few like that,\u201d S<\/a>choles said on Casemiro in an interview with The Times.<\/a><\/p>\n READ:\u00a0Amorim will sacrifice three academy kids \u2018on the cheap\u2019 to Newcastle after Ratcliffe pop<\/a> Nicky Butt added: \u201cReal Madrid don\u2019t let their best players go.<\/p>\n \u201c[Rapha\u00ebl] Varane and Casemiro were both unbelievable players [earlier] in their career.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019ve done more than I\u2019ve ever done, so it\u2019s difficult to have a go at them, but Real Madrid don\u2019t sell their top players to a European rival in Man United.\u201d<\/p>\n In the same interview, Scholes \u2018brutally\u2019 claimed Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire are also no longer \u201cphysically good enough\u201d to compete in the Premier League.<\/p>\n \u201cShaw, Maguire, Casemiro, they\u2019ve all been great players, but they\u2019re at a stage of their career now where you get found out in the Premier League if you\u2019re not physically good enough,\u201d Scholes added.<\/p>\n \u201cTheir bodies are not athletic enough, they\u2019re not strong enough, they\u2019re not quick enough. They\u2019ve dropped to a level where they can\u2019t cope with what\u2019s needed in the Premier League.<\/p>\n \u201cEvery player in the Premier League is an absolute machine. They\u2019ve got five per cent body fat, they can run, they\u2019re strong, they can head it. Manchester United are carrying two or three players that are just not capable of living with it.\u201d<\/p>\n MORE MAN UTD COVERAGE ON F365\u2026 The two pundits have also explained why they think Amorim is \u2018doomed\u2019 at Man Utd, with Scholes claiming that the results have not been good enough.<\/p>\n \u201cIt [Amorim\u2019s sacking], is going to happen sooner or later. I can\u2019t see it turning around,\u201d Butt claimed.<\/p>\n On Amorim, Scholes added:\u00a0\u201cIf you don\u2019t win games, you [Amorim] will lose your job. It\u2019s getting to that point now.\u201d<\/p>\n Butt, meanwhile, has raised a \u201cfact\u201d on Amorim\u2019s system as he\u2019s \u201cmade a rod for his own back\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cIf me and Scholesy were in charge, we\u2019d say, right our job\u2019s on the line here and we\u2019ve got to get some wins somehow,\u201d Butt said.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd it\u2019s not working, the system, so my thought would be, let\u2019s go and get two or three results any way we can, but he\u2019s gone so far now [by advocating the system], that he can\u2019t go back.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s made a rod for his own back. Does he think he can turn it around? Or does he want to go back to Portugal or Spain or another club? I don\u2019t know the answer to that. But it\u2019s looking to me like it [Amorim leaving] is going to happen sooner or later.<\/p>\n \u201cThe manager seems to be so obsessed with playing this way and if he keeps it up, and does not win games, he won\u2019t have a chance to do it because he\u2019s going to be gone.
