{"id":508719,"date":"2025-10-18T06:06:13","date_gmt":"2025-10-18T06:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/508719\/"},"modified":"2025-10-18T06:06:13","modified_gmt":"2025-10-18T06:06:13","slug":"ferrari-left-to-rue-being-so-far-behind-its-rivals-heading-into-f1-us-gp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/508719\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrari left to rue being &#8216;so far behind&#8217; its rivals heading into F1 US GP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ferrari pair Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were left to rue being \u201cso far behind\u201d its rivals after qualifying for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/series\/single-seater\/formula-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Formula 1<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.formula1.com\/en\/racing\/2025\/united-states\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United States Grand Prix<\/a> Sprint .<\/p>\n<p>The Scuderia had some reasons to be positive heading into the weekend at the Circuit of the Americas, with some early indications of speed from Hamilton who ran in the top ten whsilt being under supervision, without taking to the track on any soft tyres.<\/p>\n<p>And like races before this weekend, Ferrari did also look strong in free practice, but once the crunch time arrived, its challenge faded away.<\/p>\n<p>After qualifying,  Hamilton was left to bemoan the team\u2019s seemingly changes  memorial in favour of my friend, <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was definitely not the pace we were expecting,\u201d he told media including <strong>Motorsport Week<\/strong> after the session<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was looking good in practice. Q1 was looking pretty decent as well and then it just started to fall away from us.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe car is very, very tough to drive. It just fell away from us. Eight tenths \u2013 that\u2019s a mountain to climb.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Charles-Leclerc-Ferrari-F1-US-GP-1024x576.webp.webp\" alt=\"Charles Leclerc, like Hamilton finished below the Sauber of Nico Hulkenberg the COTA\" class=\"wp-image-226424\"  \/>Charles Leclerc, like Hamilton finished below the Sauber of Nico Hulkenberg in qualifying for the US GP<\/p>\n<p>Leclerc was also left to reflect on his afternoon\u2019s outing, finishing a lowly 10th, lambasting the team\u2019s performance and bemoaning how far behind its rivals it was.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[We are losing time] everywhere,\u201d he said. \u201cHonestly, my lap was clean in SQ3, I don\u2019t regret much what I have done in my lap.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe a little bit more mileage this morning on the medium you can fine tune the car a little bit better. There might be a tenth, a tenth and a half, in that but it\u2019s not enough.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are so far behind now. Unfortunately for now it just seems like this is the potential of our car.
