Charles Leclerc has dismissed rumours linking Christian Horner to Ferrari, insisting there is \u201cno truth to it\u201d.<\/p>\n

Horner has been heavily linked with a sensational switch to Ferrari<\/a> following his official exit from Red Bull in July.<\/p>\n

The 51-year-old is keen on a return to F1<\/a>, but it\u2019s understood he wants significant power within an organisation.<\/p>\n

Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur was handed a contract extension before the summer break, ending speculation around his future.<\/p>\n

Vasseur was under pressure following a poor start to the year for Ferrari.<\/p>\n

Ferrari are the only team inside the top four of the constructors\u2019 championship without a victory.<\/p>\n

With Red Bull and Mercedes finding improvements, Ferrari have slipped back to being the fourth-fastest team again.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Thursday in Austin, Leclerc was asked about the Horner rumours.<\/p>\n

Like teammate Lewis Hamilton<\/a>, Leclerc refused to get drawn in on the reports.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not something that you want to read and it\u2019s not something that you want to\u2026 we are fully focused on what we want to do,\u201d Leclerc told reporters in Austin.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not something that I pay attention to \u2014 I just try to ignore that completely and focus on my job, and I think that\u2019s also what the team is doing. It\u2019s never nice to hear those kinds of things and see that kind of talk going around the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn between races I don\u2019t look at those because there\u2019s no truth to it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leclerc has stressed his focus is on helping Ferrari return to the front of the field ahead of next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reality is that we are working extremely hard as a team and we are all very united in trying to come back at the front,\u201d Leclerc added.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then what\u2019s being said around, I cannot stop that and we cannot control that.<\/p>\n

\u201cI definitely did a step on that, but I also think the team in the last years have improved massively in order to not get too affected by what\u2019s going around.\u201d<\/p>\n

What next for Horner?<\/p>\n

Horner\u2019s next move remains unclear.<\/p>\n

He has been linked with several teams besides Ferrari.<\/p>\n

Haas boss Ayao Komatsu revealed Horner approached the team over a potential role with the American outfit.<\/p>\n

Komatsu said: \u201cYeah, it is true that he approached us. Then one of our guys had an exploratory talk.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd that\u2019s it. Nothing has gone any further. It is finished.\u201d<\/p>\n

Horner was briefly linked with Aston Martin, but they\u2019ve recently ruled out bringing the former Red Bull man onboard.<\/p>\n

Alpine is another option, given Horner\u2019s close relationship with Flavio Briatore.<\/p>\n
