{"id":508988,"date":"2025-10-18T08:36:16","date_gmt":"2025-10-18T08:36:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/508988\/"},"modified":"2025-10-18T08:36:16","modified_gmt":"2025-10-18T08:36:16","slug":"zelenskyy-says-over-2-hour-talk-with-trump-could-help-bring-war-closer-to-an-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/508988\/","title":{"rendered":"Zelenskyy says over 2-hour talk with Trump could help \u2018bring war closer to an end\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>&#8216;Over 2 hours of a pointed conversation with Trump that can really help bring this war closer to an end,&#8217; says Zelenskyy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b<strong>ISTANBUL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Saturday that his more than two-hour conversation with US President Donald Trump could help bring the Russia-Ukraine war \u201ccloser to an end,\u201d emphasizing discussions on battlefield positions, long-range capabilities, air defense and diplomatic prospects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver two hours of a pointed conversation with the President of the United States that can really help bring this war closer to an end,\u201d Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram. \u201cWe discussed all key issues \u2013 our positions on the battlefield, long-range capabilities and air defense, and, of course, diplomatic prospects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that \u201cRussia must end the aggression it started and continues to deliberately prolong,\u201d expressing hope that Washington will maintain pressure on Moscow.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Zelenskyy said he spoke with European and NATO leaders on details of his conversation with US President Donald Trump, stressing the joint goal of safeguarding lives and strengthening security across Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian president said he held talks with the leaders from the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Finland, Norway and Poland, as well as with the heads of the European Union and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI shared details of my conversation with US President Donald Trump. We discussed many important issues.
