Road users in Yorkshire and The Humber <\/a>are paying the highest bills in the entire country with \u00a31,221 bills – \u00a3758 more than the \u00a3463 charges motorists in the south west face.<\/p>\n Amy Rootham, an expert at Compare the Market, said: <\/a>“Many motorists will be delighted that the cost of car insurance is continuing to fall. Cover in the North West costs \u00a3663 while costs for Northern Ireland motorists are \u00a3622.<\/p>\n Drivers in East of England face \u00a3600 bills, East Midlands motorists are charged \u00a3558 and East Anglia road users face \u00a3549 bills. North East drivers face \u00a3529 bills and those in the South East are charged \u00a3528.<\/p>\n Motorists in Scotland are charged \u00a3527 while costs for those in Wales are \u00a3499 and South West drivers are charged \u00a3463. The cheapest time to get quotes is 20 to 27 days ahead of your renewal date \u2013 cover becomes more expensive the closer you get.<\/p>\n It’s the same if you are buying car insurance for the first time. The timing of your quote can impact the overall price you pay, with car insurance costs increasing the closer you get to your renewal date.<\/p>\n BBC<\/a> and ITV<\/a> star Martin Lewis’ team at Money Saving Expert says: “We analysed over one million quotes from MoneySupermarket between January and April 2024 \u2013 and found the average quote made on the day of renewal was \u00a32,277, while it was \u00a3906 when bought 26 days earlier.
