Heavy rain is set to hit Greater Manchester this weekend, according to Met Office forecasters.<\/p>\n

Today (October 18) is predicted to be largely dry in the region. Cloudy and overcast weather<\/a> is forecast through much of the day.<\/p>\n

Some light rain is expected to fall at around 11pm tonight into the early hours of Sunday. Temperatures are set to reach a high of 13C this afternoon, the Met Office predicts.<\/p>\n

The weather is then set to turn a lot gloomier on Sunday with heavy showers forecast for the afternoon in our region.<\/p>\n

Cloudy conditions are predicted in the morning, before the rain sets in from around 12pm.<\/p>\n

Rain is then predicted to fall on-and-off through the afternoon until at least 7pm. Forecasters predict temperatures reaching a high of 14C on Sunday.<\/p>\n

On the overall forecast for the North West today, the Met Office said: “Another largely cloudy day, with perhaps a few light showers during the morning.<\/p>\n

“However, a better chance of brighter skies than in recent days, with hazy sunny spells for a time.<\/p>\n

“Becoming breezy in coastal regions. Slightly warmer than yesterday. Maximum temperature 14C.”<\/p>\n

On the outlook for Sunday, forecasters said: “Cloudy and rather windy through the morning with periods of rain, perhaps heavy at times in some places.<\/p>\n

“Winds easing through the afternoon and turning drier by the evening. Maximum temperature 15C.”<\/p>\n

The Met Office outlook for Monday to Wednesday for the North West states: “Sunshine and heavy showers on Monday, then drier with fewer showers on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

“Staying changeable on Wednesday with a chance of rain later.
