Hallamshire Hotel, arguably Sheffield\u2019s most up and coming venue, sees Projector grace the stage tonight to showcase their live alt-rock prowess.<\/p>\n
On this tour the band have played four dates in France across different venues and have ventured back to UK, firstly taking on Birmingham\u2019s Sunflower Lounge before arriving at Sheffield\u2019s Hallamshire Hotel.<\/p>\n
Despite not being a full house, the band still show up with confidence and charisma, making the stage their own and passion for their art.<\/p>\n
The bands set kicks off with \u2018Hope Springs Eternal\u2019 which has a commanding instrumental and showcases one of half of the band\u2019s vocals off perfectly. Watching and listening to Projector live, you feel a sense of ease for the show as the emulate the energy of seasoned pros.<\/p>\n
The highlight of the night for me was \u2018Tastes Like Sarah\u2019 which showcases both vocalist\u2019s strengths as individuals and a duo. When the band hit the chorus \u2018Tastes like Sarah, oh yeah\u2019, it\u2019s nothing short of infectious and leaves your ears ringing the same lyrics.<\/p>\n
Above all, the band\u2019s tightly wound intensity drives the album with the strange fervour of early Pixies that reflects the energy of their live show.<\/p>\n
Watching the band, they suggest this kind the sound is drenched in the dark, industrial brutalism of Joy Division, at others it\u2019s a spectacular of hyperactive, Squid-flavoured rant-pop. <\/p>\n
Circling back to the crowd, despite it being a small number of people in attendance, everyone seems to be enjoying every second including a die-hard fan bounding around at the front.<\/p>\n
Despite moving towards the end of the set list the band still show vitality and animation in their performance with the closing tracks which include \u2018The Sham! The Sham! The Sham\u2019, \u2018Breeding Ground\u2019 and \u2018Zero\u2019.<\/p>\n
