One of the men seriously injured in the Manchester synagogue attack has been discharged from hospital.<\/p>\n

Andrew Franks, who was stabbed by Jihad Al-Shamie during the attack on Heaton Park<\/a> synagogue, has now returned home, according to the BBC.<\/p>\n

The Yom Kippur attack, which took place on the holiest day in the Jewish calender, claimed the lives of two men.<\/p>\n

Melvin Cravitz, 66, and Adrian Daulby, 53, were killed after Al-Shamie rammed his car at people outside the synagogue in Crumpsall on October 2.<\/p>\n

The attacker, who was killed by police, then tried to enter the synagogue, armed with a knife. Three men were seriously injured.<\/p>\n

Yoni Finlay, 39, who was hit by a police bullet while barricading the doors of the synagogue, has been released from hospital too.<\/p>\n

A security guard named Bernard, who was also injured during the attack, remains in hospital, the national broadcaster has reported.<\/p>\n

The Manchester Evening News understands that Bernard was hit by the car while Mr Franks and Mr Cravitz suffered stab wounds.<\/p>\n

Mr Finlay and Mr Daulby both suffered gunshot wounds as police fired towards the attacker. Sadly, Mr Daulby did not survive.<\/p>\n

Armed officers, who arrived at the scene within seven minutes of the attack, believed Al-Shamie was carrying an explosive device.<\/p>\n

However, Greater Manchester Police<\/a> later confirmed the device, which could be seen strapped to the attacker’s body, was ‘not viable’.<\/p>\n

GMP issued its latest statement about the attack after Mr Finlay, who is a father of three, was released from hospital earlier this week.<\/p>\n

The force said: \u201cThe man who was injured with a gunshot wound has been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation has continued gathering for religious services, returning to the main synagogue earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Al-Shamie, 35, had driven his car at people outside the synagogue before continuing his attack with a knife.<\/p>\n
