A restaurant in Liverpool is still closed temporarily as a result of a small fire on the block<\/a>. Amalia, a modern Italian restaurant<\/a> located on Campbell Square, shared the news on their Instagram yesterday (October 17).<\/p>\n

The restaurant <\/a>previously said that they have been asked to stay closed as a precautionary measure. In an Instagram post, Amalia confirmed that the premises is currently still closed. Amalia has apologised to customers for any inconvenience thanking them for their understanding and support.<\/p>\n

Sister venue, Amalia Cicchetti, remains open.<\/p>\n

An Instagram post from the restaurant said: “CUSTOMER NOTICE. Unfortunately, we are still closed until further notice.<\/p>\n

“Our business remains temporarily closed due to a small fire that occurred on our block. We have been asked to stay closed as a precautionary measure.<\/p>\n

“Our sister venue @amaliacicchetti (next door) is OPEN. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding and support. We will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.”<\/p>\n

The business is encouraging customers to pay them a visit at their sister venue at 1 Henry Street in the meantime.<\/p>\n

They said: “Fancy a little Italian treat this weekend? We\u2019ve got you covered down at @amaliacicchetti \u2014 from our twist on the Full English to indulgent Panino and sweet delights. Buon appetito! We\u2019re so sorry to say our sister venue @amalia is still not back open after the fire next door \u2014 but we can\u2019t wait to welcome you at Cicchetti in the meantime”.<\/p>\n

Amalia recently announced it has received a four out of a five food hygiene rating<\/a> in the rating after what they described as a “real rollercoaster for our business”.<\/p>\n

Owner Miguel Queipo told the ECHO<\/a> “After our first food hygiene inspection, we made all the changes straight away and applied for a re-score back on Friday, July 1. We were told we\u2019d get re-inspected by Wednesday, October 1, but that date came and went with no visit.”<\/p>\n

Miguel added: \u201cThe old rating didn\u2019t reflect our true standards. It knocked customer confidence, slowed down trade, and put a big strain on us as a business.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe good news is we\u2019ve finally had the revisit, and we\u2019re proud to say we\u2019ve been awarded four stars. It\u2019s a huge relief. We honestly can\u2019t thank our amazing customers enough for sticking by us through all this.
