{"id":510575,"date":"2025-10-18T23:35:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-18T23:35:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/510575\/"},"modified":"2025-10-18T23:35:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-18T23:35:11","slug":"bulgarian-female-tech-entrepreneurs-head-to-leeds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/510575\/","title":{"rendered":"Bulgarian female tech entrepreneurs head to Leeds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A delegation of 15 female tech entrepreneurs visited Leeds to discuss investment opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Supported by the Department of Business &amp; Trade, FinTech North and the Mayor of West Yorkshire\u2019s office, the three-day trip was facilitated by national law firm Mills &amp; Reeve.<\/p>\n<p>Desislava Miteva, executive director at the British Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, said: \u201cWe like to explore opportunities outside of London because there is a lot of good business going on outside the capital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve found it\u2019s actually easier to strike collaborations with organisations in this region. If you want to build sustainable, long-term international partnerships, regional ecosystems such as Yorkshire are ideal destinations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mills &amp; Reeve hosted several events and introduced the delegation to a variety of key organisations and individuals in the region.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"p9eoNLgjRS\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/businesscloud.co.uk\/news\/tech-entrepreneur-admits-he-lost-his-identify-after-sale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tech entrepreneur admits he lost his identify after sale<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The packed itinerary included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FinTech North event attendance<\/li>\n<li>Networking sessions at Barclays Eagle Lab<\/li>\n<li>Roundtable discussions with Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) director Sharon Jandu OBE and fundraising expert Charlotte Scott of The New Monday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Maria Sivkova, owner and MD of Conversion Century and one of the delegates, said: \u201cWe have several clients from the UK, and most are based in London but operate in Leeds, Manchester, and Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve seen how they\u2019re finding great opportunities in these regional cities \u2013 even better opportunities than in London.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe visit gave us an important opportunity to meet advisors, investors and fellow business founders who particularly want to support female leaders grow and succeed in what can be a male-dominated sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s clear that Yorkshire is very advanced in this area, and we\u2019ve taken away some great new opportunities and contacts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alex Beardsley, community and operations lead at The Lifted Project, said: \u201cThe visit aligned perfectly with our mission of supporting high-growth women-led businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeeing an all-women delegation of ambitious tech leaders here in Leeds was inspiring \u2013 proof that women are not just part of the conversation, but leading it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe visit has been hugely valuable not only in giving the delegation direct access to our networks and knowledge, but also in strengthening international ties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Looking beyond London<\/p>\n<p>Sharon Jandu OBE, FSB director and non-exec director for the Yorkshire Asian Business Association, added: \u201cThere\u2019s a tendency for international delegations to default to London, but when they come to the regions, businesses find it easier to stand out and build meaningful connections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Yorkshire, we\u2019re welcoming to business, the support available is substantial, and the resources are excellent.
