A total of eight new games have been confirmed for this month’s PS Plus Extra<\/strong><\/a> and Premium<\/strong><\/a> update, and it’s actually a very fitting selection for what is unquestionably the spookiest time of the year. Break out the distant screams and tormented cackling whenever you’re ready…<\/p>\n

October’s Extra lineup is full of horrible outings, starting with the critically acclaimed Silent Hill 2<\/a>. Developer Bloober Team won a lot of people over with this full-on remake of the Konami classic, and it’s a perfect pick for Halloween weekend, if you’ve got the time.<\/p>\n

The PS5 version of Until Dawn<\/a> isn’t a bad choice either, although some fans will tell you that it’s actually an inferior port because of odd changes to character models and lighting effects. Still, if you’ve never played this one before, it’s worth a look for the sheer shlock.<\/p>\n

Beyond that, V Rising<\/a> is an addictive action RPG with survival crafting elements, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon<\/a> is… well, it’s certainly not a horror title, but it is a damn good time. This was the series’ first foray into proper RPG territory, and it’s one hell of a ride.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Premium subscribers are once again being asked to be happy with just one game \u2014 but at least that one game is an absolute banger. A title that truly helped define the PS1, Tekken 3<\/a> is still a classic, and worth checking out for the vibes alone.<\/p>\n
