Anti-worlds has announced that THE LAST SACRIFICE, the chilling new feature documentary from award-winning director Rupert Russell, will be screening in select UK cinemas this autumn, including a special Halloween date at Edinburgh\u2019s Cameo.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

The film, which has been gaining rave reviews during its recent festival appearances, delves into the real-life 1945 witchcraft killing of Charles Walton. This terrifying event was the direct inspiration for THE WICKER MAN and is considered by many to be the birth of the folk horror genre.<\/p>\n

Director Rupert Russell says of the film: <\/p>\n

I was drawn to mystery of Charles Walton\u2019s unsolved murder because it is also the mystery of Britain itself \u2013 its secrets, its darkness, its unique flavour of madness\u2026 A reality that Briton\u2019s face in 2024 just as much as they did in 1973 or 1945. Adding to the atmosphere, THE LAST SACRIFICE features a score composed by Mike Lindsay, co-founder and frontman of the British folktronica band Tunng. A limited edition release of the score on coloured vinyl will be available from October 28th.<\/p>\n

The Edinburgh screening, part of a tour of special Halloween screenings and Q&As, will take place at The Cameo on October 30th<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
