Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) created the base within the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leicestermercury.co.uk\/all-about\/hinckley\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Hinckley Hub<\/a>, located in Rugby Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"leicestermercury\">The facility, which acts as the permanent replacement to a portable building located in Mount Road, Hinckley, has ten <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leicestermercury.co.uk\/all-about\/health\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">treatment<\/a> rooms and two large treatment gyms. The space will be used to treat both children and adults with physiotherapy and occupational therapy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"leicestermercury\">Patients, staff and guests, including <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leicestermercury.co.uk\/all-about\/leicester-city-fc\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">LCFC icon Filbert the Fox<\/a> gathered to officially open the new hub on Wednesday, October 8. Around 5,000 adult physiotherapy patients are expected to use the facility each year, along with 550 children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"leicestermercury\">Many patients will receive multiple appointments for physiotherapy and occupational therapy across the year, the LPT said. The portable building in Mount Road was demolished two years ago to make way for another NHS project.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/0_03-Former-portable-cabin.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>A former portable cabin.(Image: Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"leicestermercury\">Angela Hillery, chief executive of Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, said she felt \u201cconfident\u201d about the new space, which is fully accessible to wheelchair users, and has a set of patient hoists for those who need them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"leicestermercury\">She said: \u201cOur part of the hub is bigger, brighter, dryer, and more accessible than what went before. I am confident it will be the place where we deliver high quality healthcare for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"leicestermercury\">The LPT said that the children\u2019s therapy services were finished with the help of a number of supporters, which was arranged by LPT\u2019s in-house charity, Raising Health. The final touches involved the Wooden Spoon charity and the Tea Bar Volunteers helping to equip the Sensory Room.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"leicestermercury\">Additionally, the Next Giving charity team created feature walls in five therapeutic rooms, with themes such as outer space and under the sea. The organisation also funded a plaque in memory of Jenny Saunders, a physiotherapist who worked for LPT for 17 years.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/0_04-Hinckley-Hub-woodlandjfif.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>A woodland themed room inside the hub.(Image: Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"leicestermercury\">Richard Brown, LPT\u2019s associate director for estates and facilities, praised contractor Tilbury Douglas for the work in converting offices to clinical treatment rooms.
