Andrew Scott<\/a> is part of the all-star lineup for It Gets Worse, a new British sitcom<\/a> from the makers of Motherland and Derry Girls. Though a release date is yet to be confirmed, the Channel 4 show has already gathered some huge stars in its cast, including Lena Dunham and Amelia Dimoldenberg.<\/p>\n

Written, created by and starring Leo Reich, the six-part series<\/a> follows three university friends \u2013 Ethan, Abi and Sam \u2013 living in London, with their world being turned upside down after their landlord makes plans to sell up.<\/p>\n

“They’re getting kicked out. What now? Can they keep their friendships alive when they are dispersed across a city that seems to want them dead? Can they find a six out of ten or higher to have bad sex with? Can they get their shit together when the world is so obviously falling apart? Probably not. But they\u2019re going to have fun trying,” teases the logline.<\/p>\n

The series has been billed as a show about “three young people who are starting to look around themselves”. <\/p>\n

This includes some introspection at their “humiliating jobs, non-existent love lives and their rapidly dwindling will to live”, with the synopsis amusingly teasing that it may not get “better” for the trio. <\/p>\n

Reich has enlisted a star-studded cast for his project, with the comedian and actor reuniting with the All of Us Strangers star and Lena Dunham, with whom they all collaborated for Netflix’s Too Much.<\/p>\n

The other cast members include comedian and presenter Amelia Dimoldenberg, The Inbetweeners star Blake Harrison, Mary & George’s Emily Fairn, and Halo’s Olive Gray. <\/p>\n

Sean Delaney, Dane Williams, India Mullen, John Tothill, Arian Nik, Safia Oakley-Green, Nicole Sadie Sawyerr, Phil Zimmerman, Billy Rilot and Kirsty Bloom complete the lineup of the sitcom. <\/p>\n

Reich has also gathered some formidable talent behind the camera, with Mounia Akl \u2013 known for The Responder, House of Guinness and Boiling Point \u2013 serving as director. <\/p>\n

Sam Pinnell, who worked on Trying, Motherland and Derry Girls, is on producing duties. <\/p>\n

Acclaimed production and distribution company A24 is collaborating with Channel 4 on the upcoming sitcom, with filming said to have already begun ahead of a proposed release next year. <\/p>\n
