Philip Quinn died in hospital after being found collapsed at his home on Brookhouse Grove in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/st-helens\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"St HelensLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">St Helens<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">David Lyons, 43, of Brookhouse Grove, stands accused of his murder. Appearing at Liverpool Crown Court today, April 25, via a video link from HMP Liverpool, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Wearing black-framed glasses, a green fleece, and white T-shirt, he sat in silence throughout the short hearing. A trial date was arranged for July 7 this year, with a pre-trial hearing to take place on June 3.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/familys-tribute-larger-life-son-27634939\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">The ECHO previously reported <\/a>that police were called to Brookhouse Grove at 1.30am on August 22 last year after receiving reports from the North West Ambulance Service that a man in his 50s had been assaulted. Mr Quinn was then taken to hospital, where he was spoken to by officers before being discharged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">He was subsequently found collapsed inside a property on the same street at around 3.30pm. Having been returned to hospital as a result, he was later pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Mr Quinn&#8217;s family said in a statement in the wake of his death: &#8220;We are shocked and devastated at the loss of a beloved son, brother and brother-in-law<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Philip had autism and learning disabilities, but was fiercely independent and had lived happily at his home in Brookhouse Grove for the past seven years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Philip was larger than life. He loved being with other people and would get along with anyone.
