Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has shared news about her latest and “brave” career move after suffering ill health that left her feeling “powerless”<\/p>\n

Helen Flanagan<\/a> has shared some news about the next step of her career and how “brave” she’s had to be to get it going. This comes after the former Coronation Street<\/a> star suffered ill health that left her feeling “powerless”.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Helen, who first shot to fame as Rosie Webster in Coronation Street, revealed she’s adding ‘author’ to her list of accomplishments. The actress is getting ready to release her first “tell-all” biography, titled Head and Heart: Break-ups, Breakdowns and Being Rosie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The book is promised to be a “powerful, frank and moving memoir” that takes readers through Helen’s life from childhood to the present day.<\/p>\n

She said at the time: “I am so excited to share the news about my book with you. This has been something I\u2019ve wanted to do for a long time now, writing a book around motherhood and mental health and everything in between has been a goal of mine.<\/p>\n

“In January 2024, I became extremely unwell. I was unable to work or look after my kids and I felt really powerless…but when I began to write down what I was experiencing, I found it helped. A lot of it didn\u2019t make sense, but some of it did and from that, I wanted to create something positive. So here we are.”<\/p>\n

Since then, Helen has shared a fresh update about the book and revealed that is now available to pre-order. Sharing a video of a photoshoot she did for the book, she said: “So excited for my book, Head and Heart, to come out in January – I\u2019m going to put the link in my bio to pre order it”<\/p>\n

She added that writing about her mental health was “therapeutic” for her and that she “had to be brave” but hope readers will laugh with her at the situations she’s ended up in over the years.<\/p>\n

“Writing so honestly and openly about mental health and heartbreak has been really therapeutic for me, it was hard at times and it meant revisiting some painful moments in my life, but it feels such an achievement to have finished it.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve opened up on things I\u2019ve never spoken about before. I\u2019ve kept so much hidden until now. Head and Heart is real and raw and I\u2019ve had to be brave, but I also think it will make you laugh – I don\u2019t take myself too seriously and a lot of my life has been, well, a bit mad! Some of the situations I\u2019ve got myself into over the years have been hilarious.”<\/p>\n

Clare Fitzsimons, the commissioning editor of Mirror<\/a> Books, who are publishing the memoir, said: “Helen Flanagan has grown up in the public eye, having played Rosie in Corrie for 12 years, and documents her life to her million-plus followers on Instagram.<\/p>\n

“But for the first time, Helen will share her full, unedited story, from truly difficult struggles to fighting back for her beautiful family. We\u2019re thrilled to be releasing Helen\u2019s powerful, frank and moving memoir.”<\/p>\n
