\n \u201cA celebration of Callan\u2019s life will be held at the Fishermen\u2019s Hall, Buckie, on Wednesday, October 22, at 1pm, thereafter to Buckie West Cemetery, to which all are welcome.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cFamily flowers only please, donations if so desired, may be given in lieu, in aid of CRY and Feeling Blue.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cPlease wear a splash of red in loving memory of Callan.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cHe will be forever in our hearts.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n Friends paid tribute to Mr Thain on the post, describing him as “happy and genuine”.\n<\/p>\n
\n Richard Charlwood wrote: \u201cJust under ten years ago I was fortunate enough to be introduced to a young man named Callan Thain and tasked with marking his Specialist Portfolio in Biomedical Science.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cI was always impressed by his strong work ethic and during my time marking it I could tell he was going to go far, definitely a future Senior Chief in the making I thought.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Sadly, Callan passed away last week after taking part in the Great Scottish Run and this tragic event has affected us all deeply.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cCallan was always a happy, genuine young man who always had time for people.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cHe would never dismiss you if you needed help.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cHe was liked by everyone.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cHis passing is a tragedy.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThe world would certainly be a better place if there had been more people like him in it.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cI\u2019ll see you again one day my friend, so sorry that you were taken from us too soon.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n A statement from NHS Ayrshire & Arran said: \u201cWe were saddened to hear of the untimely passing of our colleague Callan Thain. We send our deepest condolences to Callan\u2019s family at this time.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cCallan was an outstanding young man and an outstanding scientist.
