Former Scotland rugby player Chris Paterson officially launched the 2025 Scottish Poppy Appeal at Lady Haig\u2019s Poppy Factory in Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

Paterson is now a specialist coach and TV commentator, and he is known for his points scoring record which he still holds. He scored 809 points for Scotland during his international career earning 109 caps.<\/p>\n

He said he was proud to help launch this year\u2019s appeal as he has long supported the charity Poppyscotland. He hosts the annual Remembrance memorial at Scottish Gas Murrayfield. <\/p>\n

Chris said: \u201cLife in the Armed Forces comes with unique challenges during and after service, and Poppyscotland is there every step of the way \u2013 helping our Armed Forces community and their families whenever and wherever they need support.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour donation helps make a life-changing difference, whether the issue is housing, health, finances, or making the transition to civilian life. Your poppy shows you care \u2013 that\u2019s why I\u2019m wearing my poppy from now right throughout Remembrance, and I\u2019m asking you to please do the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richard Todd, National Poppy Appeal Manager \u2013 Scotland, said: \u201cA huge thank you to Scottish rugby legend Chris Paterson for supporting this year\u2019s Scottish Poppy Appeal.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy making a donation and wearing a poppy, you help deliver real, lasting support to veterans, those still serving, and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Scottish Poppy Appeal is Scotland\u2019s biggest fundraising appeal, with more than two million poppies already being distributed around the country. All funds raised will help Poppyscotland continue to provide life-changing support and advice.<\/p>\n
