Von der Leyen\u2019s office did not respond to POLITICO\u2019s question on which chatbots she used. <\/p>\n
So we ran the experiment ourselves.<\/p>\n
POLITICO asked three different AI chatbots \u2014 U.S.-owned OpenAI\u2019s ChatGPT, Mistral\u2019s Le Chat from France and China\u2019s DeepSeek \u2014 to imagine they\u2019re a top adviser to von der Leyen.<\/p>\n
We served the chatbots 13 questions covering von der Leyen\u2019s thorniest political and policy queries of the day, ranging from how to deal with American President Donald Trump to how to keep her centrist coalition in Europe intact.<\/p>\n
We asked them to provide answers that would grab the president\u2019s attention: concise, high-level advice that avoids too many technical and legal terms. We told them to try to stand out among von der Leyen\u2019s pack of advisers with wit and flair.<\/p>\n
Now it\u2019s your turn. We present you with the questions, and the different answers given by the three chatbots. It\u2019s up to you to pick the best answer for each question.<\/p>\n
