Britain\u2019s King Charles<\/a> greeted Donald Trump<\/a> on Wednesday as the US president\u2019s second state visit to the UK<\/a> began with pomp, intense security, technology investments and planned protests.<\/p>\n

Mr Trump and his wife Melania<\/a> arrived at Windsor Castle, home to British monarchs for almost 1,000 years, where the royal red carpet treatment included a carriage procession, gun salutes, a military flypast and lavish banquet.<\/p>\n

The guest list ranged from members of the royal family to titans of business and technology.<\/p>\n

Today, the US president is scheduled to visit the UK prime minister\u2019s official country residence at Chequers, followed by a press conference.<\/p>\n
