Emergency services were called to the junction of Hawthorne Road and Linacre Lane in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/bootle\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Bootle<\/a> at around 5.50am on Friday, October 3 following reports of a <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/footage-shows-car-speed-horror-32695590\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">crash involving a van and cyclist.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The cyclist, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital after suffering serious facial injuries, including a broken nose and fractured cheek bone. The driver stopped at the scene, however <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/merseyside-police\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">police <\/a>said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">CCTV and and house-to-house enquiries have been carried out, Merseyside Police said and officers are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed what happened to get in touch.
