Scott McTominay may have left Manchester United, but the Red Devils academy graduate made it clear he is still thinking about his former colleagues<\/p>\n

Scott McTominay paid tribute to Luke Shaw<\/a> after the Manchester United<\/a> defender’s heroics against Liverpool.<\/a> Harry Maguire headed in a late winner against the Merseysiders to give the Red Devils a 2-1 victory<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While the \u00a380million man<\/a> dominated the headlines, Shaw also put in an outstanding display on the left-side of Ruben Amorim’s<\/a> back three. Injuries have troubled the ex-Southampton star<\/a> for many years, but he reminded his fans and critics of his quality.<\/p>\n

Paul Scholes recently claimed he was not athletic enough to star for United<\/a> a matter of days before the game. After the match, McTominay praised Shaw’s display on social media.<\/p>\n

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports<\/a> bundle for the 2025\/26 season, saving members \u00a3336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.<\/p>\n

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.<\/p>\n

The Scot took to Instagram and made a three-word comment, saying: “What a player” beneath Shaw’s Instagram post.<\/p>\n

Shaw started the match and was substituted in the 85th minute for Leny Yoro, as Liverpool<\/a> looked to get more crosses into the box. It was a brilliant evening for Shaw and the rest of their players, who had to withstand numerous Liverpool attacks in the final moments of the clash<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for McTominay, it was not a great weekend for him and his Napoli team-mates. The Scot picked up an injury before the contest and had to watch on from the side-lines as his team-mates were beaten 1-0 by Torino, in what was their second league loss this season.<\/p>\n

Their defeat saw them slip down to third position, where they are trailing league leaders AC Milan by one point. Meanwhile, Amorim was chuffed with his side’s display, having recorded one of his biggest wins at the club.<\/p>\n

It also meant they had put together back-to-back Premier League<\/a> victories for the first time under his premiership. In his post-match interview, the Portuguese boss said: “Every day is special [as United boss].<\/p>\n

“But this was a very special win. To see our fans singing during the game, in a moment that the biggest rivals are champions, on their field and at their stadium, this win is all about our fans and the spirit of the team.<\/p>\n

“I believe we can play so much better. We will analyse the game in the same way we analyse the other ones, try to see the good things and bad things. But, for me, the togetherness they [the players] showed during this game, that is special for me.”<\/p>\n

The result lifted United into the top half of the table. After losing three of their opening six matches, their brace of Premier League victories means they are only two points of the top four.<\/p>\n

They will be looking to make it three wins out of three when Brighton and Hove Albion travel to Old Trafford<\/a> on Saturday October 25.<\/p>\n
