{"id":514845,"date":"2025-10-20T16:46:53","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T16:46:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/514845\/"},"modified":"2025-10-20T16:46:53","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T16:46:53","slug":"alexander-zverev-hits-back-at-boris-beckers-criticism-of-him-i-dont-care-anymore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/514845\/","title":{"rendered":"Alexander Zverev hits back at Boris Becker&#8217;s criticism of him, &#8216;I don&#8217;t care anymore&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>   <a class=\"fw\" href=\"https:\/\/profile.google.com\/cp\/Cg0vZy8xMXlnMTNoeXE4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"28\" height=\"28\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/google-discover.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Follow us on Google Discover <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Alexander Zverev has fired back at Boris Becker after the legend\u2019s recent criticism of him. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a joint podcast with former women\u2019s player Andrea Petkovic, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/boris-becker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Becker<\/a> called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/alexander-zverev\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zverev<\/a> a \u2018problem child\u2019 while criticising his performances as of late on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATP<\/a> Tour. <\/p>\n<p>The world number three has recorded a largely disappointing season, and has recently endured an underwhelming Asian swing, during which he crashed out in the early stages of the Shanghai Masters. <\/p>\n<p>Becker stated that he gets \u2018a bit of a headache when thinking about Zverev\u2019, and said he needs to stop getting distracted and focus on himself. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2239553424-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Alexander Zverev of Germany reacts during his match against Arthur Rinderknech of France in the Men's singles round of 32 match on Day 8 of 2025 Shanghai Rolex Masters at Qi Zhong Tennis Center.\" class=\"wp-image-136770\" \/>Photo by Lintao Zhang\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The six-time major champion also slammed his compatriot for not changing his environment, highlighting how there are \u2018always the same faces\u2019 in his player box. <\/p>\n<p>Now, ahead of his indoor hard-court season, Zverev has issued a response to Becker. <\/p>\n<p>Alexander Zverev issues response to Boris Becker after criticism<\/p>\n<p>When asked to reply to Becker\u2019s words in an interview with German news outlet \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bild.de\/sport\/mehr-sport\/tennis-zverev-ueber-seine-dauer-fehde-mit-becker-boris-ist-mir-latte-68f3d68cd38f654f09d26cf9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bild am Sonntag<\/a>\u2018, Zverev said: \u201cI think he\u2019s relatively unconcerned about me, to be honest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he\u2019s looking for a bit of attention, and he gets it through me. Unfortunately, that\u2019s the case. But I don\u2019t care anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In April earlier this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/boris-becker-says-what-his-relationship-with-alexander-zverev-is-really-like-after-coaching-him-recently\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zverev briefly worked with Becker<\/a>, but the 57-year-old shut down any suggestions of becoming his full-time coach. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything will work out,\u201d continued Zverev. \u201cI\u2019m full of confidence that I\u2019ll find my form again and play good tennis again.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2237734902-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Alexander Zverev of Germany in action against Daniil Medvedev in the Men's Singles Quarter Final match on day 8 of 2025 China Open at National Tennis Center.\" class=\"wp-image-136767\" \/>Photo by Fred Lee\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow there are tournaments that I really like indoors, Vienna and Paris, where I won last year.
