In an unlikely collaboration, King Charles has teamed up with acting legend, Cate Blanchett, for a special podcast interview.<\/p>\n
The royal family\u2019s official social media pages revealed on Monday (October 20) that he has secretly recorded a podcast episode with the Hollywood star, and it\u2019s available to listen to from today!<\/p>\n
Earlier today, a teaser video was shared on the official royal family Instagram account.<\/p>\n
\nThe King has recorded a special podcast episode with Cate Blanchett.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
The clip shows the king and Cate chatting away in the picturesque setting of the Windsor Castle private gardens, along with Kew Gardens\u2019 Senior Research Leader, Dr Elinor Breman.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom seed to story,\u201d reads the caption. \u201cTo celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Millennium Seed Bank at\u00a0@KewGardens, The King has recorded a special podcast episode with Cate Blanchett, Ambassador for\u00a0@Wakehurst_Kew and Dr Elinor Breman, Senior Research Leader.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Millennium Seed Bank, created by Kew, is the world\u2019s largest underground seed bank and conservation resource for diverse wild plant species,\u201d it continues. \u201cCreated in 2000, it is now home to over 2.5 billion seeds ensuring they are safeguarded against extinction.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n<\/blockquote>\nThe podcast episode will launch Kew\u2019s fourth \u201cUnearthed’\u201d series, which celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Millennium Seed Bank.<\/p>\n
The three-part series, hosted by Cate, will explore the past, present and future of the world\u2019s largest seed bank.<\/p>\n
The Millennium Seed Bank plays a vital role in preserving nature. It strives to protect plant species from being lost to climate change and environmental threats.<\/p>\n
King Charles opened the Millennium Seed Bank back in 2000 and has continued to take an active interest in the project, returning to visit in 2019. He has also served as Patron of Kew since 2016, using the position to champion sustainability, a cause he is very passionate about.<\/p>\n
