And the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.co.nz\/celebrity\/royals\/william-and-kate-romance-timeline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prince and Princess of Wales<\/a> are more determined than ever to use that incredible platform to have as significant an impact as possible \u2013 even if that means baring their emotions to the world.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest example of one of the Waleses demonstrating they\u2019re not afraid to show how much they care while using their powerful reach as a force for good, Prince William was in tears as he spoke to a woman who lost her husband to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.co.nz\/health\/mind\/kim-cattrall-brothers-death-heartache-suicide-41841\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">suicide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/16-10-25-royals-will-and-kate-3-68f05dc751b66.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-323040\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>When compassion overcame composure<\/p>\n<p>The heartbreaking conversation with Rhian Mannings appears in a film to mark <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.co.nz\/celebrity\/royals\/royals-step-out-for-world-mental-health-day-23229\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Mental Health Day<\/a> and while William, 43, could have asked for that part to be cut out, he didn\u2019t. The future king looked like he was crying as he listened to Rhian talk about her husband Paul taking his own life, just days after their one-year-old son died of pneumonia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSorry, it\u2019s hard to ask you questions,\u201d he explained as he reached out to hold Rhian\u2019s hand. <\/p>\n<p>She asked him, \u201cAre you okay?\u201d and consoled him with, \u201cYou\u2019ve experienced loss yourself,\u201d referring to the death of his mother <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.co.nz\/celebrity\/royals\/princess-diana-60th-birthday-45053\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Princess Diana<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Choosing to show how moved he was by a topic often considered taboo is evidence of how keen William is to do things differently from previous generations of royalty, says royal correspondent Emily Ferguson.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/16-10-25-royals-will-and-kate-4-68f05dc84b112.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-323041\"  \/>Kate is an advocate for families spending less time on screens.<\/p>\n<p>Turning pain into purpose<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWilliam\u2019s not afraid of the difficult conversations, and he wants to use his role to help others,\u201d she tells. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can clearly see this is a prince who genuinely cares and wants to cut the number of UK suicides significantly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The fact that he didn\u2019t hide how emotional he felt demonstrates \u2013 especially to boys and men who are more likely to take their own lives than women \u2013 that it\u2019s okay to cry and talk about your feelings, says Emily.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/16-10-25-royals-will-and-kate-1-68f05dc9136a8.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-323042\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Finding strength in vulnerability<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese things aren\u2019t a weakness and William helps prove that vulnerability can be a strength,\u201d she admits.<\/p>\n<p>Royal expert Tom Sykes agrees that prominent members of the royal family letting the public see how moved they are by tricky subjects not only raises more awareness of those topics, but also represents a significant shift in the way they have typically done things.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt arguably offers clues as to how he will reign,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Just a few days before the video was released, William spoke in a TV interview with travel show presenter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.co.nz\/celebrity\/prince-william-opens-up-to-eugene-levy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eugene Levy<\/a> about how \u201cchange for good\u201d will be on his agenda when he becomes king.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"2500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/16-10-25-royals-will-and-kate-5-68f05dbf4d0c4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-323039\"  \/>A tearful William exposed his vulnerability and humanity.<\/p>\n<p>A father\u2019s vision for a better world<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to create a world in which my son is proud of what we do, a world and a job that actually does impact people\u2019s lives for the better,\u201d the future king said.<\/p>\n<p>His wife Kate feels the same, which is why she has been relentless in her support for the cause closest to her heart: early childhood development. She didn\u2019t carry out public engagements while undergoing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nowtolove.co.nz\/celebrity\/celeb-news\/princess-kate-cancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">chemotherapy for cancer<\/a> last year.
