Labour councillor Mark Skillicorn asked <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/wirral\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Wirral<\/a> Council to take action \u201cbefore it leads to tragedy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Following a unanimous decision by councillors at an environment and transport committee, the local authority has <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/drivers-could-banned-doing-one-32671428\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">banned parking along the north side of Arrowe Boork Road in Wirral. <\/a>The no waiting at any time restrictions will be introduced after safety concerns were raised by the public, businesses, and councillors in the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">However 50 objections had been recieved over the plans from parents <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/drivers-could-banned-doing-one-32671428\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">who park along the road to watch their daughters play football on nearby pitches. <\/a>Council officers said they had tried to find a compromise keeping the south side of the road available for parking but <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/drivers-could-banned-doing-one-32671428\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">help relieve the gridlock issues in the area.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Used by Wirral and Cheshire\u2019s girls\u2019 football leagues, over 200 girls play every weekend in up to 36 matches across 12 pitches. Photos seen by <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">the ECHO<\/a> show long queues of traffic and cars parked on grass verges and pavements.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Cllr Skillicorn told t<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">he ECHO<\/a> there had recently been a 20 minute stand off meaning people could not leave a nearby estate for over half an hour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The Greasby councillor said he\u2019d knocked on every door of the 127 homes on Arrowe Brook Park Estate and found total support for the new restrictions as well as numerous complaints. He said businesses on nearby industrial estates were struggling to operate due to blocked entrances and some were unable to open at times.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">He said people had made it clear the current situation \u201chas become intolerable and is worsening,\u201d adding this had to be a priority \u201cnot the inconvenience of those parking irresponsibly\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Cllr Skillicorn told councillors there had even been confrontations between motorists and people \u201chave been trapped in their own estate raising serious concerns about access for emergency vehicles\u201d.
