{"id":516197,"date":"2025-10-21T05:20:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-21T05:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/516197\/"},"modified":"2025-10-21T05:20:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T05:20:12","slug":"kyneton-abandoned-after-one-race-over-track-concerns-the-straight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/516197\/","title":{"rendered":"Kyneton abandoned after one race over track concerns \u2013 The Straight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jockeys voted against continuing to ride at Kyneton on Tuesday because of a safety issue with sections of the Victorian racetrack.<\/p>\n<p>A delegation of riders told stewards of their concern about several areas on the home turn following the first of eight scheduled races.<\/p>\n<p>The track was aerated following a stewards\u2019 inspection but the remedial action wasn\u2019t enough to convince jockeys they should keep riding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had three riders report that their mounts slipped in the first race, in differing areas of the track around the home turn,\u201d Racing Victoria steward Damien Carr told Racing.com before jockeys withdrew their services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe track manager has run the aerator over the track, he\u2019s done as much as he can.
