Pizza Hut will be closing a number of restaurants across the country as the company behind its UK venues fell into administration. The news which was announced yesterday<\/a>, will also see it shut 11 delivery sites as part of a restructuring which will put 1,210 workers at risk of redundancy.<\/p>\n

DC London Pie, the firm running Pizza Hut\u2019s UK dine-in restaurants, appointed administrators from corporate finance firm FTI <\/a>on Monday, October 20. The announcement comes less than a year after the business had itself bought the chain\u2019s restaurants from insolvency.<\/p>\n

On Monday, American hospitality giant Yum! Brands, which owns the global Pizza Hut business, said it has now bought the UK restaurant <\/a>operation in a pre-pack administration deal. The rescue deal will save 64 sites and secure the future of 1,277 workers.<\/p>\n

Pizza Hut is well known for its family-friendly dining and salad bar. A spokesperson for Pizza Hut UK said: “We are pleased to secure the continuation of 64 sites to safeguard our guest experience and protect the associated jobs.”<\/p>\n

Nicolas Burquier, managing director of Pizza Hut Europe and Canada, said: \u201cThis targeted acquisition aims to safeguard our guest experience and protect jobs where possible. Our immediate priority is operational continuity at the acquired locations and supporting colleagues through the transition.\u201d<\/p>\n

There were approximately 508 Pizza Hut restaurants in the UK<\/a> as of September. Here are the locations of Pizza Hut sites set for closure, including two in Merseyside.<\/p>\n
