It also has a venue in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/didsbury\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Didsbury<\/a>, which opened in 2018.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Self proclaimed as \u2018purveyors of great beer\u2019, the brand is known for its inclusive, innovative approach to craft beer. Alongside its own selections of IPAs and lagers, it also serves a range of beers from top brands, including popular Belgium brewers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">It has been announced that Head of Steam will open their 16th <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/manchester-bars\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">bar <\/a>&#8211; and their first new opening in six years &#8211; on Newton Street, on the edge of the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/northern-quarter\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Northern Quarter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Stay connected with our City Life newsletter <\/strong><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/newsletter-preference-centre\/?view=Solus&amp;mailingListId=d1c9a1cf-d773-47a3-b51a-f456316221bc&amp;utm_source=solusarticle\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">here<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/0_AMR_MEN_211025_HS_08.jpg\" alt=\"The venue will open in the former Cottonopolis and Lamb of Tartary site on Newton Street\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The venue will open in the former Cottonopolis and Lamb of Tartary site on Newton Street(Image: Head of Steam)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The historic Grade II-listed building was home to the Japanese-fusion restaurant and bar Cottonopolis, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/popular-northern-quarter-bar-restaurant-28381162\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">which closed its doors after eight years<\/a> in January last year, and, after that, the Lamb of Tartary which closed last September <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/manchester-pub-closes-social-media-29862645\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">after just six months of operation.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The 2,800 ft venue will boast Head of Steam\u2019s \u2018signature\u2019 industrial design, with exposed brickwork and a number of original features of the building, which dates back to the late 19th century, restored to be given a new life. With space for 180 guests, seating 120, there will also be a striking circular bar taking centre stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/pubs-and-bars\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">bar<\/a> will boast 30 beer lines serving 24 keg and 6 cask brews, and will also include a rotating selection of cans and bottles for drinkers to pick from. There will be an expertly-selected choice of beers from the UK craft scene, as well as a vast collection of Belgian beers.
