{"id":517097,"date":"2025-10-21T13:44:31","date_gmt":"2025-10-21T13:44:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/517097\/"},"modified":"2025-10-21T13:44:31","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T13:44:31","slug":"overseas-banks-raise-china-gdp-forecasts-goldman-sachs-says-2025-target-on-track","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/517097\/","title":{"rendered":"Overseas banks raise China GDP forecasts, Goldman Sachs says 2025 target \u2018on track\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Several major banks forecast stronger economic growth for China this year, buoyed by third-quarter data showing slightly better-than-expected expansion despite domestic and external headwinds.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Investment bank Goldman Sachs raised its full-year gross domestic product forecast for 2025 from 4.8 per cent to 4.9 per cent, noting that the government\u2019s target of \u201caround 5 per cent\u201d remains \u201clargely on track\u201d.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The bank also revised its estimate for 2026, up slightly from 4.2 per cent to 4.3 per cent, in a report on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The new forecasts follow China\u2019s announcement on Monday that its economy <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/economy\/economic-indicators\/article\/3329606\/china-reports-48-quarterly-gdp-growth-moving-closer-annual-target?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"noopener\">grew 4.8 per cent<\/a> year on year in the third quarter of 2025.
