Hot Deal enjoyed a cosy peg line trip throughout the 2645-metre journey but could not match the leaders Lord Zarias, driven by Gaita Pullicino, and Delightful Tammy, by Lisa Ryan, over the final stages of his heat.<\/p>\n
Having only his third run back after five months off, Hot Deal came in third, beaten nine metres in 1:58.6 and should improve with the outing under his belt.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Emma Stewart-trained four-year-old entire Miki To Success with Wayne Hill aboard was ultra impressive in the other cup heat, scoring by 9.5m in a new track record of 1:56.2.<\/p>\n
Dunn\u2019s talented three-year-old colt Forty Love was untroubled to take out the first Derby heat.<\/p>\n
Double at Swan Hill<\/b><\/p>\n
Charlton partners Tori Hutchins and Luke Dunne enjoyed a great afternoon at Swan Hill last Friday notching up a double with\u00a0six-year-old gelding Celestial Zodiac and five-year-old mare Angel Of Anger in consecutive races.<\/p>\n
Celestial Zodiac came from well back at the bell to score in Lather Up at Woodlands Pace, his seventh win for the season and a great effort by trainer Hutchins who only took over the former South Australian pacer late last year.<\/p>\n
Angel Of Anger led from go to whoa in the Vicbred Voucher Pace and broke a drought of\u00a014 months and 30 starts since her last success.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Having her first outing for the Hutchins-Dunne combo, the mare started odds-on-favourite in the restricted stakemoney contest on the strength of a solid recent trial at Bendigo.<\/p>\n
Eyeneedthat scores<\/b><\/p>\n
Smart two-year-old colt Eyeneedthat proved too tough for older rivals in taking out the Chris Packer and Associates Pace at Ballarat last Thursday night.<\/p>\n
Starting solo on the second line at the start of the 1710-metre dash, Eyeneedthat settled at the tail of the field in the early stages before driver Aaron Dunn made a three-wide forward move heading to the bell.<\/p>\n
Poised outside the leader, Soho Piastri at the 400-metre mark for a ding-dong fight to the finish, Eyeneedthat pulled out plenty to score by a half-neck in 1:54.5, his second win from seven starts.<\/p>\n
The son of Downbytheseaside USA is raced by Dunn in partnership with his Ouyen mate Matt Retallick and the estate of the late Brian \u2018Digger\u2019 Finch.<\/p>\n
