Organisers of a festival event in a small town near Bristol have announced next year\u2019s headliners will be 1980s \u2018Nutty Boys\u2019 Madness. The band will be topping the bill on the Saturday night of the Good Times Live event in Chipping Sodbury.<\/p>\n

The festival has previously seen the likes of Chesney Hawkes, Billy Ocean, Craig David and Will Young<\/a> entertain the playing fields on the edge of the South Gloucestershire<\/a> town. Organisers have said Madness have long been top of their wish list.<\/p>\n

The production manager for Pepsi Presents Good Times Live said they would be making their stage even bigger to accommodate the famously anarchic band, who burst out of Holloway in North London in the late 1970s to become a leading light of the new wave of ska, pop and punk in the early 80s with hits like One Step Beyond, Our House and Baggy Trousers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one we\u2019ve been waiting a long time to announce,\u201d festival director James Murden said. \u201cMadness have been top of our wishlist for years, and we\u2019re beyond excited to finally welcome them to Good Times Live,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Next year\u2019s event, which takes place across the Spring Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May, will also include a comedy night, with a host of local comedians who have made it big nationally and internationally, headlined by Russell Howard<\/a>. And Sunday\u2019s headliner has already been revealed to be Emeli Sand\u00e9. But now Chipping Sodbury is preparing for the arrival of Madness.<\/p>\n
