A 19-year-old man has been stabbed near a busy high street in Battersea this afternoon (October 21). The teenager was attacked on Beauchamp Road at around 3.20pm by an unidentified knifeman.<\/p>\n
He was rushed to hospital with injuries that are believed to be life-threatening. The Metropolitan Police<\/a> awaits an update on his condition, the force said in an update this evening.<\/p>\n No one has been arrested in connection at this stage, and an investigation into the circumstances has now been launched. Witnesses, or anyone with information, are urged to come forward as soon as possible.<\/p>\n Photos taken at the scene show a large cordon set up along Beauchamp Road and the adjoining Ilminster Gardens. A number of police cars and ambulances can be seen surrounding it.<\/p>\n The shocking incident took place just metres from Lavender Hill, a busy high road running towards Clapham Junction<\/a> station.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “At 15:26hrs on Tuesday, 21 October, officers attended Lavender Hill, Wandsworth, alongside the London Ambulance Service following reports of a stabbing. A 19-year-old was treated at the scene for stab wounds.<\/p>\n “He was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be life-threatening. We await an update on his condition. No arrests have been made, and police are urgently making enquiries.”<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service added: “We were called at 3.20pm today (21 October) to reports of a stabbing in Beauchamp Road, SW11. We sent an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars, an incident response officer and our tactical response unit to the scene.<\/p>\n “We also dispatched London\u2019s Air Ambulance. The first paramedic arrived in less than four minutes. We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road.”<\/p>\n Witnesses, or anyone with information, are urged to contact 101, quoting crime reference 4781\/21OCT.
