King Charles once donned a hilarious disguise so that no-one would recognise him. During a skiing holiday in Switzerland in 1980, the 76-year-old wanted to ensure that he blended into the crowd and get some privacy during his trip.<\/p>\n
Clearly fed up of being instantly recognisable, the then-Prince of Wales – who is known to enjoy skiing trips<\/a> – took matters into his own hands. In an attempt to disguise himself, Charles<\/a> wore a fake nose, moustache, glasses and a hat to trick the awaiting press at Klosters.<\/p>\n His plan didn’t appear to go straight to plan as he was soon recognised by photographers<\/a> – with pictures soon released of Charles’s hilarious new look.<\/p>\n Catching on to his prank, the photographers were then spotted sporting their own fake noses and red hats in return.<\/p>\n The Prince of Wales then posed for a picture with Steve Wood of the Daily Express, James Whitaker of The Sun, Ken Lennox of the Daily Star and Arthur Edwards of The Sun.<\/p>\n Taking after his father, Prince William<\/a> later tried his hand at a similar prank. The 42-year-old previously used the alias Steve when he was a student at St Andrews University.<\/p>\n The royal enrolled at the university – which is where he later met his future wife – under the name William Wales but friends used the nickname to help the royal slip under the radar.<\/p>\n
