\tYou won’t be surprised to see that Augusta National<\/strong>, home of The Masters<\/strong>, dominated the comments, as the iconic and unobtainable nature of the place only adds to the allure.\u00a0<\/p>\n \tWhile it’s unlikely that any of us will take on this most recognisable of designs, the same can be said of another exclusive American golf club, Cypress Point<\/strong> in California, which was recently showcased during the 2025 Walker Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n \tPebble Beach<\/strong><\/a> is open to the public, albeit expensively, so this is a more realistic one to include, as Golfshake’s Derek Clements<\/strong> once played<\/a>\u00a0to leave unforgettable memories.<\/p>\n \tYou would also include the Old Course at St Andrews<\/strong><\/a> in this category – which is another place that all golfers have the opportunity to play at least once.\u00a0<\/p>\n \tI’ve strolled around this historic layout about 120 times with my clubs and it would be my choice to play every day, as the subtleties of the course become apparent the more you face them, the variety of shots that you are tasked with hitting is often startling, and the nature of the test itself evolves dramatically when conditions, wind direction and pin positions are changed.<\/p>\n \tPlaying the Old Course every day would be an education – although the time it can take to go around might become a drag.<\/p>\n \tClassic links courses<\/p>\n \t \tIt’s clear that traditional, vintage links courses hold an appeal in the hearts of golfers, and several of these featured prominently in the comments that were submitted.<\/p>\n \tRoyal Dornoch<\/strong><\/a> – a favourite of mine<\/a> – was a regular, as was the revered Championship Course at Carnoustie<\/strong><\/a>. Likewise, the West Links at North Berwick<\/strong><\/a> is one Scottish classic that many golfers would love to play over and over again (we agree with that!), while the famous Ailsa Course at Turnberry<\/strong><\/a> is another that you clearly relish.<\/p>\n \tMoving south of the border to England, 2026 Open Championship<\/strong> venue Royal Birkdale<\/strong><\/a> was a popular choice, as was nearby Hillside<\/strong><\/a>, while Northern Ireland can boast both Royal County Down<\/strong><\/a> and Royal Portrush<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \tThe Republic of Ireland is home to Ballybunion<\/strong><\/a> and\u00a0Waterville<\/strong><\/a>, which both were regularly cited as courses you wanted to play every day.<\/p>\n \tCult favourite golf courses<\/p>\n \t \tMany of the above courses are the most obvious ones, so we were excited to see some proper cult favourites mentioned, including the enchanting Cruden Bay<\/strong><\/a> in the North East of Scotland.<\/p>\n \tTucked away effectively on the opposite corner of the nation, Machrihanish<\/strong><\/a> holds a similar reputation, while England has many candidates here too, including Silloth-on-Solway<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Wallasey<\/strong><\/a>, and Cornwall’s St Enodoc<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \tOld Head<\/strong> in Ireland is a clifftop feast for the senses that is undeniably a dream location for many keen golfers.<\/p>\n \tModern masterpieces<\/p>\n \t \tIt’s not just the historic, classic courses that you want to take on every day of the week, as Kingsbarns<\/strong><\/a>, Dumbarnie<\/strong><\/a> and Castle Stuart (Cabot Highlands)<\/strong><\/a> are a trio of layouts in Scotland that have all emerged this century.<\/p>\n \tThese are modern links designs, created to be visually spectacular, playable for all, but challenging for better players, and having visited each of them, I can confirm that they tick all of those boxes and more.<\/p>\n \tTrump International<\/strong><\/a> in Aberdeenshire is another place that many of you want to take in, especially now that it has a stunning second course on the property<\/a>.<\/p>\n \tIt’s not just about the seaside<\/p>\n \t \tHaving read everything thus far, you could be forgiven for being under the impression that golfers simply pine for days spent on the seaside, but there are notable inland courses that many of you would happily play every day.<\/p>\n \tWhat about the immaculately presented Adare Manor<\/strong><\/a>, home of the Ryder Cup<\/strong> in 2027, or the acclaimed King’s Course at Gleneagles<\/strong><\/a> in Perthshire?\u00a0Druids Glen<\/strong><\/a> was an Irish venue that you might be surprised to see included.<\/p>\n \tThe Old Course at Sunningdale<\/strong><\/a> was commonly mentioned – and if you align that with the New Course you arguably have the best day of golf in the world.<\/p>\n \tHankley Common<\/strong><\/a> and Swinley Forest<\/strong><\/a> are of a similar mould, the latter described by the legendary Harry Colt<\/strong> as his “least bad” work.<\/p>\n \tFormer Scottish Open venue, Loch Lomond<\/strong><\/a>, one of the most private clubs on the planet, was somewhere that rests highly in the minds of golfers, while we head to the continent to give a mention to the formidable test of Valderrama<\/strong><\/a> that evidently fascinates quite a number of you out there.<\/p>\n \tUltimately, whether it be returning to a favourite or stepping onto the first tee at the course of your dreams, these are just some of the layouts that keen golfers would gladly play every day.<\/p>\n \tWhich of them speaks to you the most?<\/p>\n![\"Carnoustie\"](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Championship_16th_2_ikvgr4.jpg\")
