Its Bearsden postcode is perfectly considered to play to the well-heeled local crowd, but its pulling power extends beyond its already-loyal neighbours, with it steadily building a reputation as a destination restaurant.

“Chef Gary Townsend is passionate about seasonality, and his menu is an encyclopedia of the very best British ingredients. Every meal starts with canapes and ends with petit fours, so you get all the trimmings, and starters might be beef short rib with onion, watercress and beef dashi, while a main of duck with yellow peach and duck fat potatoes has proven an instant hit.”

Content cannot be displayed without consent

Meanwhile, other fine dining restaurants included on the roundup are West End hotspots Cail Bruich on Great Western Road and Fallachan Kitchen on Eastvale Place.

The former earned praise for its “Michelin-starred dining”, while Fallachan Kitchen was noted for its unique atmosphere and communal dining.

On the other hand, one of the best “cheap eats” in Glasgow according to Condé Nast Traveller is The Real Wan. According to the magazine, the Newlands Road eatery is the “best for noodles and dumplings” in the city.

The Real Wan specialises in Southwest Chinese street food in a low-key setting. It serves up spicy Guiyang-style tapas and mains, including noodles, dumplings, and rice.

Condé Nast Traveller wrote: “The Real Wan has become a Southside institution thanks to its unique South West Chinese offering. That means hearty plates of soft, steaming dumplings liberally seasoned and served with a deep dipping sauce as well as bowls of chewy noodles, spicy tofu and rice dishes.

“Many plates have a good hit of something punchy, whether that’s the tang of spring onions, the rich depth of shiitake mushrooms, funky fermented chilli sauces or the numbing power of Szechuan pepper. With its intimate dining space, booking is recommended and it’s BYOB too.”

Content cannot be displayed without consent

Other low-cost eateries in Glasgow that earned a spot on the experts’ list include Ranjit’s Kitchen on Pollokshaws Road and the Wee Lochan Kitchen on Dumbarton Road.

Condé Nast Traveller praised Ranjit’s Kitchen for its cosy surroundings and affordability, while the Wee Lochan Kitchen was singled out for its friendly staff.

Elsewhere, the magazine also included a number of “casual restaurants” on its list of the best eateries in Glasgow. Among the relaxed and no-frills restaurants that were singled out is Crabshakk.

Crabshakk has two locations in the city, on Argyle Street and Vinicombe Street.
