A Hollywood star<\/a> attended a party with King Charles\u2019s<\/a> guards after a chance encounter near Balmoral Castle<\/a>. Jimmy Fallon was enjoying a solo trip to Scotland when he unexpectedly met four armed Royal Guards and ended up having dinner with them in a kilt.<\/p>\n

The American comedian and television host<\/a> shared what happened on his Instagram<\/a> story and said he had \u201cthe best dinner ever\u201d. He also revealed two presents he was given by the guards to take back to the US with him.<\/p>\n

The comedian is not believed to have met any royals during his time in and around Balmoral.<\/p>\n

Talking about his experience on Instagram<\/a>, Fallon said: \u201cMy friend Eddie Burns, back in the States, I told him I’m going to Scotland, he said, ‘I’m Scottish! My great-grandfather is Scottish.’… So I took his tie clip from the NYPD.<\/p>\n

“Right next to Balmoral is the River Dee. And, I took the tie clip and threw it into the river. And I said, ‘There you go, Eddie, you will live forever in the River Dee.’ I turned around, and there were four armed Royal Guards staring at me.”<\/p>\n

He said that the guardsmen recognised him and invited him for dinner, which he attended in a kilt he borrowed at his hotel. He then went to the officer\u2019s mess to spend the evening with Balaklava company, 5th battalion of the Royal Regiment.<\/p>\n

He recalled: “I went to the officer’s mess, Victoria Barracks. They were psyched I was wearing a kilt.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWe had the best dinner ever… There were great speeches given, and they gave me this beautiful hat.\u201d<\/p>\n

As well as the hat, he was also given a kilt that was made to order by the tailor of the regiment Sergeant Cooper, saying he was \u201cthankful\u201d for the gesture.<\/p>\n

Sharing what happened on his instagram<\/a>, Jimmy also said \u201csometimes no plan is the best plan\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Royal Regiment of Scotland commented on the comedian\u2019s post, sharing what a great time they had with him. They wrote: \u201cIt was an absolute pleasure to host you, Jimmy!
