Ibrahima Konate believes that Mohamed Salah is a better player for Liverpool than Virgil van Dijk at the moment. <\/strong><\/p>\n

This season, several members of Liverpool\u2019s first-team squad<\/a> have performed well below their usual standards.<\/p>\n

Konate and Salah have been the two biggest culprits for this<\/a>, with both costing Liverpool valuable points more than once this season. <\/p>\n

However, despite Salah\u2019s poor form this term, Konate still believes that he\u2019s the Reds\u2019 best player despite Van Dijk carrying Arne Slot\u2019s<\/a> defensive line on his back. <\/p>\n

Salah was the Reds\u2019 star man last term as he contributed to over 50 goals across all competitions. <\/p>\n

And, if Liverpool<\/a> had even just got to the semi-finals of the Champions League<\/a> rather than getting knocked out in the round of 16, he\u2019d have had a much better chance of winning the Ballon d\u2019Or. <\/p>\n

Indeed, his performances from the start of the 2025-26 season were fresh in the minds of those choosing the winner, so this likely also had a part to play in him not coming away with the trophy. <\/p>\n

Despite all of this, while speaking to Sports Direct, Konate was asked who Liverpool\u2019s best player is, and without hesitation, he replied: \u201cMohamed Salah.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mohamed Salah could end up being replaced by Antoine Semenyo if he doesn\u2019t get back to his best soon<\/p>\n

Seeing as though Salah\u2019s recent form has been poor<\/a>, it\u2019s not a surprise to see links with potential wingers re-emerging. <\/p>\n

And, as per a report from The i journalist Mark Douglas, Liverpool could make a move for Bournemouth\u2019s Antoine Semenyo<\/a> in the January transfer window. <\/p>\n

The attacker can play on either wing and, compared to the performances of most of the Reds\u2019 attackers, he\u2019d feel like a massive upgrade. <\/p>\n

Semenyo<\/a> has been one of the Premier League\u2019s best performers this term, with the Ghanaian even available to play during AFCON since his country didn\u2019t qualify for the tournament. <\/p>\n

He has a release clause in his contract with the Cherries that Liverpool would look to \u2018exploit\u2019 if given the chance to make a move. <\/p>\n

The attacker would be a welcome addition to Slot\u2019s ranks as he\u2019d be able to bring back the pressing nature of someone such as Luis Diaz<\/a>, who has been a massive miss after his move to Bayern Munich. <\/p>\n
