Seamus Quinn\u2019s family confirmed his death on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

It comes after police on both sides of the border issued an urgent appeal for the public\u2019s help in locating the 63-year-old after a family friend said he may have travelled to Inishowen.<\/p>\n

It is understood Mr Quinn had worked as a teacher in the Letterkenny area.<\/p>\n

His daughter Caitl\u00edn shared an update on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks for all your help in sharing posts, sharing the messages around and searching for our daddy,\u201d she wrote on Facebook.<\/p>\n

“Our wonderful husband and daddy has been found. Totally heartbroken.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sports club Newell Academy led tributes to Mr Quinn, who they said was a \u201chighly respected committee member\u201d.<\/p>\n

His dedication to the club and to the young people involved over the years was remarkable<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The club cancelled all training sessions on Wednesday evening as a mark of respect. <\/p>\n

“Everyone at Newell Academy is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Seamus Quinn, beloved father of our coaches Seamus and Michael Quinn, father to former player Diarmuid,\u201d it posted on Facebook.<\/p>\n

“Seamus was one of life\u2019s true gentlemen; a man who always had a kind word, a warm smile, and time for everyone.<\/p>\n

“His dedication to the club and to the young people involved over the years was remarkable. He played an important part in helping shape the community spirit that still runs through Newell Academy today.<\/p>\n

“The outpouring of love and the many beautiful messages shared over the past few days show just how deeply he was loved and respected by all who knew him.<\/p>\n
