James Penrice sees no reason why Hearts<\/a> can’t sustain their title challenge and reckons the players are starting to believe it themselves, writes Anthony Evans in Athens.<\/strong><\/p>\n The full back spent just one season with the Jambos before landing a big \u00a32million move to AEK Athens last summer <\/a>off the back of some stellar displays in the capital.<\/p>\n Derek McInnes<\/a>‘ team will have the chance to open up an eight point lead over Celtic<\/a> at the top of the table when the Hoops make the trip to Tynecastle on Sunday.<\/p>\n Penrice has been impressed with the new additions in Gorgie and believes they are seriously in with a chance of doing the unthinkable.<\/p>\n He said: “I don\u2019t see why not. It\u2019s obviously not something that\u2019s happened in Scottish football for a while, but me knowing what\u2019s in the dressing-room there they\u2019ll be more than up for it.<\/p>\n “But they probably won\u2019t say, they won\u2019t say they\u2019re in a title challenge the now. But if you look at the quality they\u2019ve brought in, they have players performing at such a high level.<\/p>\n “Sunday is massive, I think, but you never know. It\u2019s something we\u2019re not used to in Scottish football, but hopefully they do.<\/p>\n “Hearts have been brilliant this season. Beni (Baningime) texted me last night to say \u2018look what happens when you leave\u2019.<\/p>\n “They have been excellent, I\u2019ve been watching the games when I can. They have a massive game on Sunday and I wish them the best in that.”<\/p>\n The former Livingston defender will be reacquainted with old foes Aberdeen in the Conference League on Thursday night and says he has given his new teammates the lowdown on the Dons.<\/p>\n He added: “I\u2019ve said numerous times not to disrespect or anything because the league position doesn\u2019t tell you everything.<\/p>\n “Watch the games, they are very comfortable in games, create chances and know how to defend.<\/p>\n “They (Aberdeen) are a team who are maybe not in the best moment at the minute but they more than have the quality to come here and hurt us so we have to be wary of that.<\/p>\n “I\u2019ve tried to give everyone the best insight possible.
