{"id":520563,"date":"2025-10-22T21:31:14","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T21:31:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/520563\/"},"modified":"2025-10-22T21:31:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T21:31:14","slug":"new-hounslow-property-licensing-scheme-starting-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/520563\/","title":{"rendered":"New Hounslow property licensing scheme starting soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"meta\">Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025 &#8211; Hounslow Council <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"705\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Start-pro.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11877\" style=\"width:800px\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>An additional landlord licensing scheme that had been operating in Hounslow for five years ended on 31 July 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In advance of the additional licensing scheme ending, Hounslow Council consulted on plans to renew the scheme from 12 March to 21 May 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With time needed to review the consultation results, there has been no additional licensing scheme operating in Hounslow since 1 August 2025.<\/p>\n<p><strong>London Property Licensing<\/strong> has discovered the licensing consultation results were presented at a Cabinet meeting on 2 September 2025. The Cabinet were informed there had been 71 responses to the consultation plus written submissions from the National Residential Landlord Association and safeagent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Licensing verdict a score draw\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Having analysed the consultation feedback, council officers determined a score draw \u2013 47.9% of respondents supported renewal of the additional licensing scheme for five years whilst 47.9% were opposed. The remaining 4.2% were unsure.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, and having considered all the issues, the Cabinet decided to renew the additional licensing scheme for a further five years. The scheme will extend licensing to the vast majority of Houses in Multiple Occupation throughout the borough.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The HMO licence application fee will be \u00a31,550, plus an extra \u00a325 for each household living in the property.
