Freyr Alexandersson has warned the new Ibrox boss what to expect from his team as he predicts a lift for Gers<\/p>\n

Brann Bergen boss Freyr Alexandersson says they\u2019re going to have a PARTY against Rangers<\/a>, writes Scott McDermott in Bergen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But he fears the appointment of Danny Rohl<\/a> might spoil the Norwegians\u2019 big night.<\/p>\n

Brann\u2019s Europa League<\/a> clash with Gers will be one of the biggest occasions in the club\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

Locals have compared it to Liverpool\u2019s visit to Bergen in 1997 in the quarter-finals of the Cup Winners’ Cup.<\/p>\n

Alexandersson knows the importance of the tie and his side will be backed by a sell-out 17,000 home crowd.<\/p>\n

He expects a fierce atmosphere in the Brann Stadium on Thursday and admits they\u2019ll face an off-form Rangers.<\/p>\n

But the Icelandic coach is adamant that Rohl\u2019s arrival at Ibrox will boost the players <\/a>and make it more difficult for his own team.<\/p>\n

Alexandersson said: \u201cWe\u2019re really looking forward to having this team and their fans visit.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be a party atmosphere here on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cRangers have grossly under-performed but now they\u2019re bringing in a new manager and that will lift them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be a tough match for us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brann have already beaten Dutch side FC Utrecht in the Europa League group stage, as well as losing narrowly away to French cracks Lille.<\/p>\n

With their home fans behind them, Alexandersson has vowed to go for Rangers\u2019 throats on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

But he\u2019s also warned his side that if they go too gung-ho in search of goals, they\u2019ll get punished by Gers.<\/p>\n

Alexandersson said: \u201cWe\u2019re going to go at them offensively but we have to be careful.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Rangers are at their best, playing offensively. So we can\u2019t open ourselves up too much.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we\u2019re at the Brann stadium so we have to attack\u201d<\/p>\n

Brann will be without injured strike duo Saever Atli Magnusson – who has scored six goals in seven European games this term – and Niklas Castro for Rangers\u2019 visit.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re also sweating on the fitness of Norwegian midfielder Felix Horn Myhre, who is currently fighting with Ibrox ace Thelo Aasgaard for a place in the national team.<\/p>\n

Gaffer Alexandersson hopes to include Myhre on the bench but he\u2019s not fit enough to start.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cAfter training on Wednesday, I\u2019m not optimistic for Felix so he will not start.<\/p>\n
