{"id":521222,"date":"2025-10-23T03:47:14","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T03:47:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/521222\/"},"modified":"2025-10-23T03:47:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T03:47:14","slug":"king-charles-should-abdicate-if-he-prays-with-the-pope-says-kyle-paisley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/521222\/","title":{"rendered":"King Charles should abdicate if he prays with the Pope, says Kyle Paisley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Mr Paisley&#8217;s father, Ian Paisley, was a former Northern Ireland first minister who founded the DUP, now Northern Ireland&#8217;s largest unionist party, in 1971.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">However, before his career in politics was his life in religion &#8211; he became a religious minister as a young man and went on to found the Free Presbyterian Church.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Along with fiery sermons, Ian Paisley became known for his opposition to Catholicism and the Pope. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">To mark the death of Pope John XXIII in 1963, he said: &#8220;This Romish man of sin is now in hell.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Mr Paisley also protested against Pope John Paul II in 1988, when the Roman Catholic leader was giving an address at the European Parliament. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He interrupted the address, saying: &#8220;I denounce you, antichrist.
