Rail passengers are being warned to expect disruption throughout the afternoon after a train<\/a> fire.<\/p>\n Lines between Manchester and Sheffield, via Stockport<\/a>, were closed earlier today (April 26) following a fire at Edale, in the Peak District.<\/p>\n All railways lines have since reopened, but passengers are facing chaos on services between the two cities.<\/p>\n Several services have been cancelled, while some are running with major delays.<\/p>\n National Rail is warning passengers to expect disruption until at least 3pm this afternoon.<\/p>\n Northern, TransPennine Express and East Midlands Railway services have all been impacted by the issue.<\/p>\n At least seven services from Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield have been cancelled since 11.45am this morning.<\/p>\n They include upcoming services to Nottingham at 1.43pm, Cleethorpes at 2.13pm and Sheffield via New Mills at 1.48pm and 2.48pm.<\/p>\n At least four services heading from Sheffield to Piccadilly were also cancelled, while other services are facing significant delays in both directions.<\/p>\n A National Rail spokesperson said: “Following a fire on a train at Edale, the lines have now reopened.<\/p>\n “Whilst services begin to run again, trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 35 minutes or revised.
