An Edinburgh<\/a> sandwich shop has been named the best in Scotland. It was praised for its “delicious hot sandwiches with adventurous fillings”.<\/p>\n

On October 9, Betway Insider named the UK\u2019s most popular sandwich shops in 2025. The experts analysed social media<\/a> popularity, search volume, and visitor reviews.<\/p>\n

Topping the list for Scotland<\/a> is Alby\u2019s in Edinburgh. The sandwich shop, which has two venues in the Scottish capital, placed fifth on the UK-wide roundup.<\/p>\n

The two Alby\u2019s locations in Edinburgh can be found in the Southside and Leith<\/a> areas of the city. Sandwiches available include Spanish potatoes and padr\u00f3n peppers, sardine melt, and Karaage and dashi mayo.<\/p>\n

According to Betway Insider, Alby\u2019s receives 34,800 Google<\/a> searches each year. The experts also found that the sandwich shop has an overall rating on Google of 4.8 out of five and 1,467 Instagram posts under its hashtag.<\/p>\n

Betway Insider wrote<\/a>: “Up in Scotland, Alby\u2019s comes in fifth. With two locations in the city, Alby\u2019s has been serving delicious hot sandwiches with adventurous fillings since 2019, building up a dedicated customer base in a fairly short period of time.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, coming in at second for Scotland on the experts’ list is Mootz General Store. The eatery, which is also located in Edinburgh, placed at number seven on the overall roundup.<\/p>\n

According to Betway Insider, Mootz General Store receives 64,800 Google searches each year. Meanwhile, it has an overall rating on Google of 4.9 out of five.<\/p>\n

The Daily Record previously reviewed Mootz General Store<\/a>, praising its “absolutely incredible” sandwiches. We also noted the sandwich shop’s large portions and optional hot honey.<\/p>\n

The third and final sandwich shop in Scotland to appear on Betway Insider’s list is Bite Me Sandwich Bar in Glasgow. The sandwich shop came in at number eight for the UK.<\/p>\n

Bite Me Sandwich Bar is located on Paisley Road near the centre of Scotland’s largest city. In addition to sandwiches, the venue offers hot rolls, wraps, and baked potatoes.<\/p>\n

The eatery was found by the experts to have an average Google rating of 4.7 out of five. Meanwhile, according to Betway Insider, Bite Me Sandwich Bar has 10,560 annual Google searches and an Instagram hashtag volume of 2,436.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Beigel Bake in London was named the top sandwich shop in the UK. Betway Insider praised the historic shop for its “legendary status” and singled out its salt beef bagel.<\/p>\n
