As Del Mar prepares for its 12th fall racing season, horseplayers can look forward to a wide range of exciting wagering options. One adjustment to the fall race meet is the Pick 6, the bet is now offered as a $2 minimum wager, replacing the previous $1 minimum.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
While the base bet of the Pick 6 has changed, the traditional 80-20 payout structure remains intact. \u00a0The modification to the Pick 6 is expected to generate more carryovers and excitement for the fall meet. In the scenario where nobody picks six winners, there will be a carryover of the major portion of the pool to the next betting program. In the past, even single-day carryovers have led to subsequent pools that move into the one-half million-dollar range.<\/p>\n

The shore track\u2019s 16-day fall session, dubbed the \u201cBing Crosby Season\u201d in honor of its iconic founder, will open on Thursday, October 30 and run until Sunday, November 30. For the fourth time, and second year in a row, Del Mar will host the two-day Breeders\u2019 Cup World Championships on October 31 and November 1.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In all, there will be 15 different ways to wager on the track\u2019s daily programs starting with win, place and show bets and extending out to a series of exotic wagers topped by the Pick 6 during the five-week outing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Besides the Pick 6, the trio of popular wagers introduced this summer will continue in the fall including the $3 Late Pick 3 on the last three races daily with low 15% takeout, the $5 Late Double on the last two races daily with low 15% takeout and the Middle Pick 4 held on Races 4-7 on Opening Day and every weekend<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the full array of Del Mar bets that will be available during the assembly: $2 Win, Place and Show (all races); $1 Exacta (all); $2 Quinella (all); $2 Rolling Doubles until $5 Late Double on the last two races; 50-cent Trifecta (all); $1 Rolling Pick 3 (all except last two); 50-cent Rolling Pick 3; $1 Superfecta (10-cent minimum \u2013 all); $1 Place Pick All (starts w\/Race 1 or 2); 50-cent Super High 5 (last); $2 Pick Six (last six); 50-cent Players\u2019 Pick 5 (first five and last five); 50-cent Pick 4 (Races 2 thru 5 and last four), 50-cent Middle Pick 4 (Races 4-7 weekends and Opening Day) and $2 Win-Place-Show Parlay (all races but last).<\/p>\n

The fall season\u2019s first post will mark off Thursday, October 30 at 12:30 p.m. with a 9-race card. The Breeder\u2019s Cup\u2019s first post on Friday is at 11:35 a.m. with a 10-race-day and an earlier post Saturday at 10 a.m. for a 12-race card.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The track will then settle into a schedule starting Sunday, November 2 with a starting post at 12:30 p.m. Consisting of four three-day weeks \u2013 Fridays through Sundays \u2013 the meet will close on November 30. First post for all racing days following will be 12:30 p.m. with eight races planned for weekdays and nine for weekends.\u00a0<\/p>\n
