He&#8217;d recently played a show with Soft Cell, just weeks earlier \u2026 he was in a wheelchair at the time.<\/p>\n<p>    <a class=\"media-link document-block__link js-track-link\" href=\"https:\/\/dam.tmz.com\/document\/0b\/o\/2025\/10\/23\/0b016774c9ae4cf1a7f4f7720806a265.pdf\" data-node-ref=\"tmz:document-asset:document_pdf_20251023_0b016774c9ae4cf1a7f4f7720806a265\" data-container-ref=\"tmz:article:68a4065a-6971-41e8-8714-17f6d63fc325\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><\/p>\n<p>              <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/40295a7d69e9480385c14e67e7e9c58b_md.jpg\" alt=\"dave-ball-doc-launch-1\" width=\"728\" height=\"546\" class=\"img-fluid img-aspect-auto\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The group&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.softcell.co.uk\/dave-ball-tribute\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>website posted<\/strong><\/a> a statement and a series of tributes to Ball following his death.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"continued\" class=\"continued-anchor\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Ball had been recovering from a fractured vertebrae and broken ribs about 3 years ago when he caught pneumonia, and sepsis followed \u2026 he was put in an induced coma for seven months, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/ckg1rrzn1kwo\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>BBC News reports<\/strong><\/a>.
