Kate Middleton<\/a> and\u00a0Prince William<\/a>\u00a0are always going for the win.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n T.V. chef and baking expert\u00a0Dame Mary Berry<\/a> recently spoke to Saga<\/a>, where she talked about the royal couple as she reflected on being called a “true national treasure” by Prince William when he helped celebrate her 90th birthday<\/a> earlier this year.\n<\/p>\n “I had to bite my lip, because you feel, \u2018Oh, goodness gracious me!’ ” she told the outlet about the special tribute. “I was totally overcome. I thought, \u2018I must hold myself together.’ I mean, to see Prince William on the screen saying that I\u2019d taught him all he knew about cooking\u2026 well!”\n<\/p>\n Berry, who was made a Dame Commander for her career in cooking and writing in 2021, added that both the Prince and Princess of Wales share a surprising trait: “I\u2019ve done quite a few things with him and, gosh, he\u2019s competitive. They have faced off in everything from\u00a0spin biking<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0charity sailing races<\/a>\u00a0to cocktail mixing<\/a> and rolling dough balls<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n During a 2023 appearance on\u00a0The Good, The Bad & The Rugby<\/a>\u00a0podcast \u2014 hosted by\u00a0Mike Tindall<\/a>, who is married to William’s cousin Zara \u2014 they poked fun at Kate’s personality when it comes to contests.\n<\/p>\n “I’m not going to say you’re uber competitive,” Mike said sarcastically.\n<\/p>\n Princess Kate replied coyly, “I’m not competitive at all.”\n<\/p>\n “I’ve seen her play beer pong!” Mike said.\n<\/p>\n Kate Middleton and Prince William race on spin bikes in 2023.
