After the U.S.,<br \/>\nMexico (14,290), Canada (8,988) and Brazil (5,481) show the highest number of<br \/>\nrooms in construction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>In construction: 171,589 rooms<br \/>\n     (+5.2%)<\/li>\n<li>Final planning: 71,502 rooms<br \/>\n     (-18.5%)<\/li>\n<li>Planning: 185,254 rooms<br \/>\n     (+14.2%)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Total under contract: 428,345<br \/>\n     (+3.7%)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The United Kingdom leads Europe in total rooms in construction<br \/>\n(24,540), closely followed by Germany (22,622).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Asia Pacific<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>In construction: 492,663 rooms<br \/>\n     (-3.2%)<\/li>\n<li>Final planning: 42,911 rooms<br \/>\n     (-22.6%)<\/li>\n<li>Planning: 415,446 rooms (+6.6%)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Total under contract: 951,020<br \/>\n     (-0.3%)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Among countries in the region, China (280,577) leads in construction<br \/>\nactivity, followed by India (41,711) and Vietnam (39,078).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Middle East &amp; Africa<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>In construction: 99,895 rooms<br \/>\n     (-9.4%)<\/li>\n<li>Final planning: 19,396 rooms<br \/>\n     (-37.3%)<\/li>\n<li>Planning: 94,485 rooms (+10.9%)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Total under contract: 213,776<br \/>\n     (-5.6%)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most of the region\u2019s pipeline activity is focused in the Middle<br \/>\nEast.
